The last couple of days have been a raw deal for my Resplendent Bride as she has battled through worsening mouth sores and throat pain. Last week she lost nearly all of her voice for about 4 days, but today it is sounding better! Eating continues to be nearly impossible. We are thankful she has her food tube for this go around. We hope to avoid the weight loss she suffered last time. One doctor even thinks she might be released to go home by Resurrection Sunday: we’ll wait and see!
If you’ve had your flu shot, Danielle would love to have a visit while she is in the hospital. She is after all a social butterfly!
The grace of God is for the lowly in heart.
When you feel like you’ve been dealt a cruel hand: His grace is for you.
When you feel like you’ve gotten a raw deal: His grace is for you.
When you’ve been down and out so long that you’ve forgotten the way home: His grace is for you.
1 Peter 5:6-11 says to cast you anxiety upon the Lord. Why? Because He cares for you. Spend the rest of your life letting that sink in!
1 Peter 5:6-11
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,
casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Dearly bedraggled, frazzled, resented, scrappy saint: A day of rest is most assuredly coming. The Lord Jesus authored it for you.
